Honoring those outstanding teachers of gifted and talented students, administrators, counselors, psychologists, and parents who provided extraordinary contributions to diversity & equity in gifted and talented education
Purpose: In order to supplement the learning opportunities of talented and gifted students, CCAGTC wishes to assist local students augment and enrich their education by awarding summer scholarships. Summer Scholarships are an opportunity for students to participate in a class, individual one on one instruction with a teacher/mentor, or participation in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts (including second language learning), or Music (STEAM) program, independent activity or class that is of particular interest to the student. Students also have the option of working with a mentor and creating a learning experience of their own design.
Grant Award: Up to four grants of a maximum $500.00 will be awarded.
Eligibility Criteria: Current CCAGTC members
Application Process: Provide the following:
o Applicant Information - Name, Age, and Grade.
o Project Goal – What you hope to accomplish?
o Project Description – Detailed description that includes who, what, when, where, how.
o Personal Statement - Why is participating in these classes or activities important to you?
o What is the cost of the class, specially designed project, or program activity?
o In what way can CCAGTC help you with this process?
o Method of Evaluation – How you will evaluate the success of your project?
Final Report: A final report for scholarship recipients is due two weeks after the completion of the class or activity. The final report will include:
• A brief description of your final experience
• Did your experience meet your goal?
The final report can include attachments of pictures, videos, power point presentation, etc. that we could share with members via our Website, Newsletter or at an CCAGTC event.
All applications will be reviewed by a committee of adult volunteers with a variety of experiences and an interest in CCAGTC students.
Some of the factors the committee will consider: the completeness of the information. & the clarity of the goal .
Decisions by the committee are final and not subject to review.
